Notable Transfers To Watch Out For In The Summer Window

Ah, don’t you just love the summer transfer window? The speculation, the rumours, the hype.

Though, I’ve got to admit, with the number of blogs around now and misinformation, it is easy to become overwhelmed by ‘information overload’.

However, I think this summer we may see some flagship transfers going through, which could really be season-defining next term for some clubs and I think there are some intriguing plots that could unfold.

Will Liverpool Strengthen?

Last summer, the Reds barely made any changes to their first team. Indeed, only Federico Chiesa came in from Juventus for £12.5 million, plus goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardishvili joining for £25 million plus £4 million in add-ons with him being loaned back to Valencia for a season.

And, new manager, Arne Slot still won the Premier League. Changes abound this summer. Already, they have agreed a deal to bring in Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold and many other names have been linked.

Recent reports have linked the club to another Leverkusen player, Florian Wirtz, though I’m less optimistic about their chances. I think Milos Kerkez could well join from Bournemouth, while Hugo Ekitike is a striker that they are understood to be looking at.

Can Arsenal Finally Add Enough To Win The Title?

I think it could well be the season that the Gunners deliver. Already, it seems they have agreed a deal to bring in defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who I think will be a lynchpin and next a top, central striker will be earmarked.

Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gykores appears to be the favourte, while recent rumours indicate that talks with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko appear to be advancing. It remains to be seen whether one or both are signed.

A back-up goalkeeper is also said to be on the radar, as well as a rotation option for Buyako Saka, an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli, a new left-back and even possibly a centre-back could well come in.

Manchester City To Make Moves?

It has been an interesting campaign for Manchester City. Injuries to key players saw them drop well outside the top four at one point, before regaining enough form to finish third. However, Pep Guardiola will want new recruits.

Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki is being linked and could well replace Kevin De Bruyne, while it is understood the club is also tracking AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. I think they need quite a lot of surgery to be honest and it could be an interesting summer.
