The FA Cup has always been one of the most exciting tournaments in football ever since its creation in 1871 , it has brought many big headlines in its time from giant killings to epic come backs.
The confirmed draw for the #EmiratesFACup fourth round 🏆
— Emirates FA Cup (@EmiratesFACup) January 15, 2025
This year has already had some classic action Tamworth took on Tottenham Hotspur at the Lamb Ground and held them to a 0-0 for over 90 minutes a big shock to professional tipsters out there, only the FA Cup could bring you a game where a team of part timers hold a Premier League side with 60 million pound players on the bench to a draw in normal time.
Man City Worthy Favourites?
In my honest opinion, no they have not been anywhere near the standard they were last season and for them to be favourites at 7/2 currently is far too short.
They obviously will want to win some silverware this season and with the Premier League title looking less likely as the season progresses maybe they will put all their effort into this competition.
Manchester United Dark Horses
Manchester United could slip through the cracks for some if they can overcome a weak Leicester side in their next fixture and decide to field a strong squad it could signify an intent on going all they way in this one.
There will be some big change sin the January transfer window with many potential exits and new signings to negotiate, if their new Manager Ruben Amorim
Nottingham Forest A Good Bet
With forest at 25/1 they are a more enticing betting option in my opinion, though they may want to focus on the league as they are doing incredibly well there, they may find themselves into the latter stages of the FA Cup without too much effort.
They are hosting Exeter next time and should progress past that one into the last 16 then it would depend on the draw of who they got next.
Liverpool Could Steal It
Another solid option is Liverpool they have plenty of young talent to get them through the easier parts of the competition and enough quality to beat any side on their day in their first team ranks.
They are currently 4/1 and for me this offers more value than backing Man City in the current form they are in.
They have to beat Plymouth at their home ground to get to the last 16, but this is something that shouldn’t be too hard for them to do.
Predicted FA Cup Final
I honestly don’t see Man City in the final of this years Cup which may surprise some people, but I think a more likely outcome would be a Liverpool Vs Manchester United final.
Much depends on the draws and the results as with all cup competitions there will be a drastic sprinkling of good luck needed too negotiate through to the final at Wembley.
The Fa Cup always springs a surprise or too so lets see how it pans out come finals day and whoever your supporting on the way there good luck!
